Portrait Drawing Workshop Spring 2025 Two days, Saturday and Sunday, April 5 & 6, 1-5 p.m. The workshop includes a live model. Join us for an intensive portrait drawing workshop. The human mind is hard-wired to be fascinated by the way other people look. Images of others, in particular their faces, abound in art and popular culture. Drawing from a live model, you will explore the fundamentals of facial physiognomy, proportions, and symmetry to create a lively convincing face. Expect to create several drawings in different media; trying new drawing materials is encouraged. Duker will demonstrate and critique.

Bring a large drawing pad (not a "sketch" pad) 18 x 24, a kneaded eraser, a variety of pencils, charcoals, pastel pencils (not pastels) etc. I recommend Stabilo Othello pastel drawing pencils in a mix of chosen colors. ​

The workshop takes place in a beautiful new studio near Mt Philo, in Charlotte, Vermont. Limit: 12.
